ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan jumlah traktor tangan yang dibutuhkan
berbasis sistem informasi geografis dengan menyajiakan suatu potensi lahan dan
pengembangan mekanisasi pertanian di Kabupaten Pringsewu Provinsi Lampung dalam
bentuk peta. Penelitian ini sangat bermanfaat bagi pemerintah, masyarakat, maupun
intansi yang terkait, karena penelitian ini merupakan suatu informasi tentang
pengembangan industri dalam bidang pertanian yang membutuhkan trakor tangan dalam
suatu wilayah yang berpotensi. Jumlah trakor tangan yang dibutuhkan dalam suatu
wilayah diketahui dengan cara mencari data-data yang dibutuhkan seperti luas wilayah,
kapasitas kerja yang digunakan, jumlah trakor tangan yang tersedia, potensi lahan sawah
di setiap kecamatan, mencari data hari hujan unuk dapa mengetahui data hari kering
perbulan di setiap tahunnya dalam waktu 10 tahun.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah traktor tangan yang dibutuhkan dari 9
kecamatan yang ada di Kabupaten Pringsewu yang tidak membutuhkan penambahan
jumlah traktor tangan yaitu Kecamatan Ambarawa dan Kecamatan Pagelaran, selain itu
semuanya membutuhkan penambahan jumlah traktor tangan terutama yang sangat
membutuhkan penambahan jumlah traktor tangan yaitu Kecamatan Gadingrejo, karena
Kecamatan Gadingrejo memiliki potensi lahan sawah yang sangat baik namun jumlah
traktor tangan yang tersedia tidak sesuai dengan jumlah traktor tangan yang dibutuhkan.
Sehingga perlu diadakan penambahan sebanyak 52 traktor tangan.

THE DETERMINATION OF THE NUMBER OF HAND TRACTOR NEEDED
BASED ON THE GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM: CASE IN

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research is to determine the number of needed hand tractor based on
geographical information system by providing a potrential field and mechanical
development in agriculture in Pringsewu Regency, Lampung in from of map. This
research is beneficial for government, society as well as relatied institute because it about
information of industrial development in agriculture field which need hand tractor in a
potential area. In finding out how many hand tractor s which area needed in an area, the
researcher looked for data needed such as the area wide, the work capacity, the number
of available hand tractor, the field potential in each subdistrict, raining day data to know
the drought per month in every year during the last 10 years.
The result showed the number of hand tractors needed in Subdisrict of Pringsewu needs
addition from 9 subdistricts, there are two subdistrict which do not need hand tractor
addition Ambarawa and Pagelaran Subdistrict. The most potential field which needs
addition is Gadingrejo Subdistrict because it has high potential field, yet the number of
available hand tractor is less than what is needed. Thus it needs addition as much as 52
tractors.
