- It has been known that diarrhea is one of ten prioritized diseases in Indonesia. One of the reasons is that the disease is always occurs throughout the year among the population. A child who is suffering from diarrhea can be indicated by losing his body liquid and electrolyte continuously, if this condition was not handled and cured properly, the child will come to a phase called dehydration. The degree of liquid discharged from a child in a day shows how severe the diarrhea is. Before necessary actions were taken to the ailing child, the level of the dehydration should be firstly measured. To measure the level of diarrheal severity in children between 12 - 59 months of age a liable mathematical model was used. Variables to be analyzed were, household density, children age in months, physical conditions, monthly expenditure, mother's education, source of drinking water, and the type of latrine used by the family. Only household density, physical conditions, mother's education, and type of latrine used by the family can be analyzed by using this model. The model could only analyze R2=0.068 or 6.8% of all cases of diarrhea in children between 12- 59 months old. Results of this analysis are not too accurate, thus, precautions should be taken before implementation in the community. Keywords : rnatematical model, diarrhea, household density
