Utilization of Cardboard Waste and Liquid Organic Fertilizer as Mixed Media of Planting Mushroom Growth White Oysters (Pleurotus ostreatus)

  • White oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) is one of the fungus that used for groceries because nutrition content and better than the other mushrooms. Efforts to increasing production of the fungus are still under studied, for example by the use of a mixture planting media and application of liquid organic fertilizer. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of mixed plant media types, the application of liquid fertilizer and the interaction of both for the growth of white oyster mushroom. This research activity was conducted at Agrojamur Mushroom House of Baturaden Sub-district, Banyumas Regency. The experimental design conducted by using a complete randomized block design (RBD) consist of two factors and three replications. The first factor was the type of a mixture planting media and the dose of liquid organic fertilizer. The variables observed in this study are when the fruit body appears, the number of whole mushroom fruit body, water content of the fungus, fresh weight and dried mushrooms during harvest. The results showed that the treatment of planting media composition using sawdust without piece of cardboard were able to increase the fresh weight of mushroom, dry weight of mushroom, and number of mushroom fruit body. Treatment using mixed planting media (25% sawdust + 75% cardboard) was able to increase the timing of fungal fruit body appearance compared with other treatments. Application of liquid organic fertilizer and the interaction between the two treatments did not have a significant effect for the growth of white oyster mushroom.
  • Jamur Tiram putih (Pleurotus ostreatus) merupakan salah satu jamur yang dimanfaatkan untuk bahan makanan karena kandungan gizi yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan jamur lain. Upaya untuk meningkatkan produksi jamur ini masih terus dilakukan, misalnya dengan penggunaan campuran media tanam dan aplikasi pupuk organik cair. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis campuran media tanam, pemberian pupuk cair serta interaksi keduanya guna pertumbuhan jamur tiram putih. Kegiatan penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Rumah Jamur Agrojamur Kecamatan Baturaden, Kabupaten Banyumas. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak kelompok lengkap (RAKL) dengan 2 faktor dan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama yaitu jenis campuran media tanam dan dosis pupuk organik cair. Variabel yang diamati pada penelitian ini adalah saat muncul tubuh buah, jumlah tubuh buah jamur keseluruhan, kadar air jamur, berat segar dan kering jamur saat panen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan komposisi media tanam menggunakan serbuk gergaji tanpa potongan kardus mampu meningkatkan berat segar jamur, berat kering jamur, dan jumlah tubuh buah jamur. Perlakuan menggunakan campuran media tanam (25% serbuk gergaji + 75% kardus) mampu meningkatkan waktu munculnya tubuh buah jamur dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya. Aplikasi pupuk organik cair dan interaksi antara kedua perlakuan tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata bagi pertumbuhan jambur tiram putih.
