- Background. Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is wide world of disease that always increase yearly, especially DM type II that developed into chronic complication such like diabetic nephropathy. Purpose. To know the relevancy of diabetic nephropathy incidence with poorly controled blood glucose on DM type II Material and method. Observational analysis with cross sectional design. The population are DM patient’s who came at private hospital in Malang from January – Desember 2007 and 106 patients conducted for the study with totally sampling method , through medical record. To analyse the statistical relation between the variables used Chi Square test. Result. Chi square test showed no relationship between diabetic nephropathy incidence with poorly controled blood glucose on type II that supported by pvalue 0.783 and odds ratio 1.347. Discussion. Tjokroprawiro (2002) revealed that the main risk factor for diabetic nephropathy were hyperglycemia and hypertension Conclusion. There is no relationship between diabetic nephropathy incidence with poorly controled blood glucose on DM patient’s type II.
