- Self-efficacy is one's belief that she can take action in certain circumstances in accordance with skills to expected results. Social adjustment is the ability of the individual in adjusting to other people and the surrounding environment so that individuals have the social skills and can act appropriately for each of the problems occur harmony in his life. Humans as social beings need relationships with other people around him, including students who live in boarding school .. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between self-efficacy with social adjustment in adolescent boarding school students. The design of quantitative research is the type of correlational research. The study population were students of Pondok Pesantren Darul Hadith Alfaqihiyyah Malang with a sample of 60 students. The research instrument used two scales, namely: self-efficacy scale and the scale of social adjustment. Data collection was conducted on 23-24 January 2006. The data analysis technique used are product moment correlation. From the research result shows that there are positive and highly significant correlation between self-efficacy with social adjustment, with a correlation (r) = 0.758 and p = 0.000, which means higher self-efficacy students, the better social adjustment. With the value of (r2) of 0, 516. This shows the effective contribution of self efficacy against the social adjustment of 51.6% and the rest influenced other factors, such as patterns of emotional, social interests, language ability, gender, and social acceptance.
