  • Baja 5L.GR API-B is made of steel and manufactured to perpipaan standard API that is based on American Petroleum Institute where the pipes have carbon content 0.3% (data journal Iscor Flat Steel) that is classified in the medium carbon steel. In books (Wiryosumarto, 2000) are mentioned carbon steel weldability have a good enough level, compared with a high carbon steel. The objective of this research is to understand the rate structure and the corrosion of steel micro-5L-GR.B without heat treatment is soaked in the media with the concentration of H2SO4 corrosion 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% for 240 hours. Results obtained from the research conclusion that corrosion can occur which affect the micro structure of steel at only changes in the corrosion akibatkan not too prominent. Steel soaked in H2SO4 solution at least, have at least ferrit Percentage and steel soaked in H2SO4 most have high konsentrasinya Percentage perlit high. And type of corrosion is the corrosion that occurred sumuran.
