  • Short film created to introduce Smile Lasminah culture contained Banyumas district which has its own characteristics compared with the culture of other areas. The background of this film is a cultural region less attention from people, especially teenagers as a successor culture. Short film It also has a cultural symbol that characterizes Banyumas, such as crocodile symbol Bati Banyumas, indigenous houses Tikelan, Ngapakngapak language, and Rodat. Seeing this researcher interested in research focusing on how local cultural symbols that Banyumasan dikontruksikan on short film Smiles Lasminah Leksono Bowo work. In order to simplify the research process, researchers focused on the formulation of the problem is "How symbols Banyumasan local culture in a short film that dikontruksikan Lasminah Smile. " Now goals to be achieved from this research is to gain understanding about construction of local culture in a short film Smile Banyumasan Lasminah. Next on the basis of existing keywords in the title, the researchers explained about the construction of symbol Banyumasan local culture found on the short film Smile Lasminah. Researcher using a qualitative descriptive study type using the method according to semiotic Roland Barthes. Here symbols of local culture Banyumas interpreted in denotation and connotation without prejudice to the myth that there is, to get a picture or understanding relatife general and comprehensive and include issues being investigated. With techniques The above data analysis researchers to capture local cultural symbols Banyumasan one of them on the scene that a portrait of the making of batik. From here the researchers found the meaning of denotation that is typical Banyumas batik making with one type Jonasan with floral motif and brown. Furthermore, researchers grasp the meaning of the connotation of the color brown symbolizes the warm, calm, natural, friendly, togetherness, and humble, so it could batik used by various circles. From the above analysis the researchers concluded that the symbol local culture found on the short film is a batik Jonasan Lasminah Smiles, house custom Tikelan, namely ngapakngapak Banyumasan language, and dance Rodat. Suggestions author practical, can be input to the filmmakers hoped for a short film creators and sineassineas more young people to produce karyakaya independent film and capable of weighing compete in national and international festivals. So the short film can be representation of social reality and culture media for the messages or values transformation culture in society.
