  • In teaching learning process, the teachers might get some problems. Exactly the problems faced by the teachers in understanding English are divided into: the linguistic problem and non- linguistic problem. Linguistic problem is the factors which come from the language itself and cause difficulties to people who study it. Meanwhile, non-linguistic problem is the problem that influence the language learning This study concerns with the non-linguistic problems faced by the teacher in EYL teaching practice at English Department. The writer conducted this study because he wants to know the teacher’s non-linguistic problems in EYL teaching practice and the way to solve the problems. In this study, the writer used descriptive research design. The objects of the study were 15 teachers who taught English in third and fourth grades, namely Fun Class. The instruments used to collect the data were unstructured questionnaire and observation. The purposes of this study were to find out the problems faced by the teachers and the ways to solve the non-linguistic problems in EYL teaching practice at English Department. The result of this study indicated that the problems covered non-linguistic problems. The non- linguistic problems were from the sides of the teacher, students, time allocation and facilities. The solutions of non-linguistic problems done by the teachers were: the teachers separate the noise student, from: advising them, giving some games and songs, reading stories and giving more attention individually. The teacher’s solution were using interesting techniques in teaching English to young learners. It was done to make the students were not getting bored. Therefore, the teachers who teach in EYL teaching practice at English Department need a special skill. Besides having sufficient English proficiency, he or she has to be attractive, helpful, patient, welcome and more creative in selecting games in teaching learning process. So, the teachers can handle the students in the classroom well.
