- Butterfly Night Novel by Achmad Munif, describing social problems including poverty, prostitution, and crime (Rape, extortion, assault, fraud, and defamation) against women. This has triggered researchers to analyze up to about gender inequality, which in this case is the male and female. Gender can be interpreted as distinguishing between male and female or as the difference between the sexes. However, this gender difference may also distinguishes the roles and functions of each sex who were born through culture in the community. Community norms create what worthy and unworthy done by men and women. Given the norms that exist in society and held between male and female, gave birth to the differences resulting inequality and inequality on one's personal. Minority women has little equal opportunity with men, both in the field educational, economic, political, or cultural. Therefore, many women still suffered deterioration, such as the existence of a violent or marginalization in life. The problems under study include a) how to form gender inequalities in the form of violence experienced by women leaders in novel "Night Butterflies" by Achamad Munif?, 2) how to form gender inequalities in the form of marginalization experienced by women leaders in novel "Night Butterflies" by Achamad Munif? The purpose of this study include 1) describing the shape analysis gender inequalities in the form of violence experienced by women leaders in novel "Night Butterflies", 2) describe the analysis of forms of injustice gender form of marginalization of women characters in the novel "Night Butterflies" Achmad Munif work. The approach used in this study is sociology approach literature. Sociology of literature can be divided into sociological research literature, sociology of the author as a social mirror writers, and readers of literary sociology literary works such as the connoisseur. Hence, the type of approach This more directed research on the sociology of literature, as documentation in which social situations are reflections on the literature created. This study used descriptive qualitative method, while the technique in data collection using documentary techniques through a novel "butterfly Night "by Achmad Munif as a source of research data. The data unit stories that illustrate the existence of gender. Data collection techniques used in this study is technical literature. The results obtained from the interesting conclusion way of thinking based on knowledge that is specific (teorotis) for find kesimpualan general. Data processing techniques as analysis of gender inequalities in the form of violence and marginalization in the novel "Night Butterflies" Achmad Munif work. So according to a study of the novel "Butterfly Night "by Achmad Munif, indicating the existence of the phenomenon of injustice form of gender violence and marginalization. The types of violence include physical violence, psychological, sexual, financial, and spiritual. Meanwhile, forms of gender inequality which is a form of marginalization marginalization and the attitude was not concerned with the position of women, and boycott opportunities that are owned by women have an impact on the status and role women in society.
