  • Self-value is need for everyone especially for adolescents. Wisely speaking, self-value correlated to any adolescent behaviours such as ganking, drugging, reletionship, and even prestice in school achievements. Related to the adolescent phase, the results of many researches conducted in different countries indicate that the most significant period in establashing the development of anyone’s self-value is the adolescent phase. In this phase, the dependentcy of child to the family is quite decrease in which they will be more often spend their times with their friends. Because of they oftenly hang out the house, we can understood that they must carry out good social engangement in order to be received by their surroundings as well as they capable to prevent and avoid any behaviours that unlikely to the society. In the adolescent phase, self-value is the prime things to have in order to be received by the social surroundings and even by their friedsmate. Wisely speaking, by having good self-value helps someone to perform good social engagements. Based on the review above, the researcher interested to conduct a research entitle “The Correlation Between Self-value and Social Engagements at SMAN 2 Situbondo”. This reserch is non-experimental reserch desaign where rating scales which is well-known as Likert Scale, includes scale of self-value and scale of social engangements, is used as the research instument. The questionaires distribute on june,9 to 10 2008 trought substructing the samples from 70 students either male and female at SMAN 2 Situbondo using quota random sampling techkniqes. The analyses techniques that is applied in this research is Product moment analyses. The results of this research indicates that there is positives and very extremely significant Correlation between self-value and social engangement which can be known trought the the coeficient correlation (r) i.e 0,611 by missinterpretation (p) 0,000 . It means that the higher the (p) of sel-value, the better the social enggagement will be. In other words, the researcher conclude that if the self-value indicates positives, the better the social enggagement will be but contrastly speraking, if the self-value enggagement indicates negatives, the worst the social enggagement will be. While the contribution of self-value to the social engagement is effectiv by 37,3% and the rest is affective by other factors i.e 62,7% .
