- Art of dance as an expression of human nature is not independent estesis presence. Viewed contextually related to the science of sociology and anthropology, dance is the Dance Dongkrek. Dongkrek Dance is one of the traditional arts in the district of Madiun. Dance has become dimbol Dongkrek for villagers Mejayan aka meaning contained therein, namely as a medium for drive and media reject pageblug reinforcements and is still believed to be its strength. Because it is a traditional art, its presence needs to be preserved from the threat of cultural extinction that occurred in the community. Based on these phenomena the authors are interested to do research on the topic EFFORT Circle "Krido ILLNESS" Sustaining ARTISTRY IN DANCE DONGKREK (Study Circle Of Art Dongkrek Deskiptif Mejayan Village, District Mejayan, Madiun District) with the formulation of the problem of how the effort to conserve? What factors are the constraints? And how the forms provided by the community. This research is a qualitative descriptive research, where research is intended to describe a phenomenon or social phenomena by way of describing the situation mnggambarkan or subject or object of research, with research subjects from the community board "Krido Way" Mejayan village. This research used purposive sampling technique in determining the sample, while data mining is done by the method of observation, interview and documentation and research locations in the Village Mejayan, Mejayan District, Madison County by using descriptive qualitative data analysis techniques. This study used the Functional Structural theory proposed by Talcott Parsons on AGIL scheme in the social system, and of Robert K. Merton who describes the functions, manifest functions, latent functions in the Functional Structural pendangan. Results of the study is that there is some preservation efforts undertaken by peguyuban "Krido Way" which among other things, menjadika Dongkrek as a symbol, socialize the younger generation, participated in festivals, local arts festivals and working with the government in preserving this art. Some of the barriers that exist among less attention from the government, lack of funds, limited facilities and infrastructure, and lack of enthusiastic young people.
