- Reality show is a program that displays a form of life which is common among real people, and the more widespread so as to make a new phenomenon. In this study, researchers are interested in the reality show Contacts Mate on SCTV, because researchers want to express the meaning behind the event in session dance party. Where investigators arrested a socio-cultural confusion between visualization and real-life people of Indonesia and the types of programs as broadcast media. The days of the New Order has been constructing the television medium into the construction of social reality media are far from the actual social reality. Baudrillard considers that social reality in society as constituted diredusir compacted or media. If observed, the media supports the existence of a lifestyle that developed in the community. Similarly, people who want a lifestyle that inclined towards Western culture, and beginning back to the local culture, so that the media like a cool production design community. At the level of media saturation in producing tayangan-tayangan like soap operas, movies and talk shows, media create a reality television program. For example Contact Jodoh impressions on SCTV that has a Dance session, the session is cultural imagery which clearly reflects the European culture and American culture. Dance itself is a dance performed only by the elite like royalty Europe, but the event was done by the middle to lower. In events in the sessions can be seen a Yule Ball signs which reflect that it has inequality. Based on these phenomena can be observed the existence of objects, events and culture as a sign, and the Semiotics as science assist researchers in studying the signs implied between existing objects. Researchers use a method of semiotic analysis which is the research to mean phenomenon that is conscious of the qualitative aspects and are only used on teksteks who experience inequality and imperfection or developing cracks. Semiotics analysis used in this research is the analysis of Charles Sander Pierce and Roland Barthes. In this research uses a qualitative approach with interpretive perspective. Researcher describes the symbols, icons, and index event object event at a dance session Jodoh Contacts SCTV with Pierce approach. The next step, researchers menguraian visualization previously into the meaning of Roland Barthes. The results of this study indicate that in the event Jodoh Contact SCTV on the dance session describe a representation of European culture and American culture, through participant event as an object of commodity producers of the event. Worship of Western culture through type clothing, dance and attitude shown by the participants show an indirect consider Western culture as a mecca of behaving and looking. Capitalist Ideology indirectly received by the public interest in the program with a proven by reality daily activities can be found in a Mall. A lifestyle that made reference interact at this time. So a new phenomenon, which indirectly provided the media only solely to meet public demand entertainment.
