- Post Power Syndrome is a group of symptoms which occurs when someone to face retirement period. However, someone who would face retirement period should be able to deal with that situation by make some preparation because the successful of self adaptation would ease the psychic activity, in turn, if someone could not be able to deal with that situation well, so He/She would have isolated feeling and feel eliminated from his/her environment. Self adaptation is necessary for everybody to achieve their goal of life and in order to make them be accepted in their environment. Therefore, the researcher needs to know the description of old year man who faces post power syndrome toward the retirement act. This research is qualitative research which is to know how the description of old year man toward the retirement that makes him/her having post power syndrome. This research method used interview method to acquire the data. This research subjects were two retire old year man and have worked in some government instance of Berau regency also have felt post power syndrome. The result showed that post power syndrome happened because there’s no plan preparation and there’s no adaptation toward the retirement. The old year man who faced post power syndrome attempt to have no self adaptation well, where the two old year men could not be able to adapt with their personal and social. The personal adaptation of the two old year men was done by depressed, doing nothing and day dreaming. There’s no activity to do by the two old year men daily, so they used to be passive and more emerge their negative feeling. It also happened in their social adaptation, the two old year men attempted to be introvert and they didn’t do any interaction with their social environment
