  • Elderly people are considered always positive setbacks and size of the elderly is negligible. This causes people who experience successful aging or successful aging is less studied. The elderly are those aged between 60 years of the end of one's life. Elderly person who lives with the child's family to get attention and care from family and children, interactions and daily activities carried out within the family and in society at large. Elderly people who live in nursing homes receive care from nurses provided by the institutions. They perform their social interactions and daily activity only with other elderly people who stayed home and the nurses. This type of research using quantitative approaches. Subjects were used as samples in this study as many as 60 people, consisting of 30 elderly people who lived with the child's family and 30 people who live in nursing homes. The sampling technique using a purposive sampling. Instruments used to collect data is scale. Scale is the scale of successful aging. Data analysis technique used is the t-test. From the t-test analysis then can be found there perbadaan successful aging is very significant in the elderly who live with children and families in nursing homes (t = 4.069, p = 0.000). Elderly who live with families have a higher successful aging (mean = 119.57) compared to elderly living in nursing homes (mean = 107.33).
