- Background of Study: Epidemiology researches show that the increasing of diabetes mellitus incident will be followed by the raise of diabetes mellitus chronic complication, one of which is the destruction of brain neuron. Some theories say that the abnormality is laid on insulin and the high level of blood sugar. Purpose of Study : To prove the influence of high level of blood sugar in white rats (Rattus norvegicus) strain wistar injected with alloxan toward the raise of necrosis in brain neuron. Research Methodology : Laboratory experimental research by applying The Pottest Control Group Design. The sample of this research is white rats (Rattus norvegicus) strain wistar divided into two groups. The first group is as control group in which they are not given alloxan injection, while the second group is given alloxan injection. The data analysis is using t test and correlation test. Result and Discussion : From the result of t pair test, we find the difference percentage of cell swelling (CE), pyramidal edema (PE), and normal cell which are very significant for the group of DM rats and control rats (value of sig (2tailed)= 0,000Conclusion : The high level of blood sugar in white rats (Rattus norvegicus) strain wistar injected with alloxan will influence the necrosis of brain neuron.
