Furthermore, studying literary work can give the readers some advantages like increasing language skills and developing vocabulary achievement.&#xD; Therefore, the writer chose literature, especially songs as the object of study.&#xD; The present study tried to analyze the figurative language of the song &#x201C;Where is the Love&#x201D; by Black Eyed Peas. The purposes of the study were to describe the kinds and&#xD; meaning of figurative language in the song.&#xD; This research belonged to descriptive research design. In addition, this studies the objective approach. The object of study was the song &#x201C;Where is the Love&#x201D; by Black Eyed&#xD; Peas especially in the form of figurative language and meaning of the figurative language.&#xD; The research findings showed that Black Eyed Peas used five kinds of figurative languages. More specifically, he used four symbol, four similes, one personification, one&#xD; parallelism and one hyperbole. The meaning of the four symbols is as follows. Firstly &#x201C;Mama&#x201D; is the symbol of motherland. Secondly, &#x201C;Drama&#x201D; is the symbol of pretending.&#xD; Thirdly, &#x201C;Father&#x201D; is the symbol of God. Fourthly, &#x201C;Rug&#x201D; is the symbol of poor citizens.&#xD; The meaning of the four similes is as follows. Firstly, &#x201C;People living like they ain&#x2019;t got no mamas&#x201D;. This statement means that people feel like they are living alone. Secondly, &#x201C;With on going suffering as the youth die young&#x201D;. This statement means that people are full of suffering from the savage of wars. Thirdly, &#x201C;Infecting the young minds faster that bacteria&#x201D;. This statement means that the young is very easy to be infected because they&#xD; have less straight attitude. Fourthly, &#x201C;Kids wanna act like what they see in the cinema&#x201D;.&#xD; This statement means that young teenagers mostly have a naifthinking pattern. The meaning of the personification, &#x201C;And that exactly how anger work and operates&#x201D; is that&#xD; people who are angry because of their on going conflict with others prefer to choose an immediate solution, that is by provoking wars. The meaning of the parallelism &#x201C;people&#xD; killing, people dying&#x201D; is that people kill each other in the same country, religion, and purpose due to their preference or immediate solution to their conflicts.
