  • Polygamy is an ancient tradition that has been commonly practiced dibelahan world. Not always polygamy makes harmonious family, but can also polygamy as a trigger of conflict. If both wife united in one house, it requires acceptance of each wife. Two or more characteristics in one house requires an adjustment, because each individual has inherent value system and difficult to change, then everyday would seem that difference. Such a situation is prone to conflicts and problems, because each person has different ways or habits to make adjustments with others and show characteristics of each. The purpose of this study to determine the acceptance of the first wife of the second marriage of husband and wife adjustment polygamy with the first wife who lived in the same house. The research method is a method of case study (case study) in the qualitative paradigm. The data collection is done through interviews. The subjects of this study is a polygamous family, each wife lived in the same house in the area precisely Pandan Wangi district Blimbing Malang. The results showed that: (1) Reception first wife when he learned that her husband married again the subject of trying to resist. Consideration of economic factors that are still dependent on the subject of her husband because he has no income so that the subjects being resigned to accept the marriage her husband and lives with his second wife. Vice versa, the second wife did not know that her husband had had a wife. Previously when the subject knows it is very shocked, angry, embarrassed, feeling guilty for being the third person to ruin the other person. Subjects who are helpless because he knows the status of her husband when she was pregnant. Subjects attempted to maintain his marriage with her husband on the grounds because the subject of fear that his children would not born without a father and family economic factors are enough to make the subjects received a desire to live together with her husband and first wife. (2) Adjustment of the first wife a second wife, they both are able to accept and adjust to foster regular communication between family members. Among them are open to each other, complement each other in every way making it easier to understand each individual character. Kkesediaan help each other and cooperate in doing household tasks such as cooking, outlets, and other child care so that it can memperat sense of togetherness in the household.
