- This theme Policy Research Study (Policy study) with the synchronization policy and border management strategy in the level of central and local governments. Actual management of border areas is not a purely military security issues (state), but individuals (citizens) also play an active role in managing and maintaining the border region. In the management of border issues Indonesia-Malaysia (Borneo Island case study) using a traditional security approach, which is based on the military aspect alone is not enough.But it must also accommodate or promote non-traditional security approaches to human security perspective. With the picture of economic security and food security, to increase the level of community welfare. Research methods that researchers use in this research is Descriptive qualitative descriptive analysis techniques, as for the data collection techniques in this research is literature study (library research). In this study researchers used an analysis tool that is a theory or approach Non-Traditional Security and Human Security concept. The results of this research than is still less than optimal implementation of government policies and strategies in the management of border areas in Indonesia-Malaysia island of Borneo (West Kalimantan and East Kalimantan).
