- Mass media role in information and globalization era got more impotant, especially in communication, there was rapid development along with science and world technology. Film was social phenomena, characterization demography in movie and audience who became the movie target, reflected economic social classes, lifestyle, etc. Psychologist since it recorded reality. Movie wtory was made or came from real life, daily human, from family story, life, love, until war, crime, technology, etc. Movie was representation of pictures and not a reality, but a serial portrait with actors played a character. Since its rapid development, movie was not only for entertainment media, but also propaganda, especially for national or social purpose. Besides, movie also functioned to influence and asked public to act and think as the movie maker wanted. One of the movie, Kinky Boots, tried to put idea about transsexual as positive person, and not as somebody who isolated in society. Usage of positive transsexual image in this movie also created notion that there was influence from liberalism principle which supported the existence of transsexual to have fairness with others. The research aimed to find out what tried to be represented through transsexual in Kinky Boots movie. In this movie, there were signs represented transsexual. In the sign, there were so many meaning which noted as transsexual description who wanted to be equal with other people Method used in this research was qualitativeinterpretive approach. The research used semiotic analysis technique of Roland Barthes. The analysis was chosen since it could helped to reveal hidden meaning in movie, whether manifest content or latent content. Through ideology made from myth, symbols existed in this movie, there could be revealed deeper to get meaning of all transsexual representation signs in Kinky Boots movie. In this research the writer found that Kinky Boots movie by Julian Jarrold used liberalism values for positive image from transsexual to support the existence in society. It could be seen from scenes that described transsexual with positive way, like their position which was higher than people, could defer and persistent for majority needs, they also has rights to decide what they wanted in facing their life and not nobody else decide their way o life. Besides, they also had high taste, also supported by group which could be said as conservative and supported by religion.
