evaluation in teaching speaking that used by the English teacher at SLTP Muhammadiyah 06 Malang. In this study, the writer used descriptive qualitative research design to know the implementation of teaching speaking at SLTP Muhammadiyah 06 Malang. The subject of this study was one English teacher for the second year students at SLTP Muhammadiyah 06 Malang. Furthermore, the instruments used were interview and observation. After analyzing the data, it can be concluded that the objectives of teaching speaking in SLTP Muhammadiyah 06 Malang were 1) giving experience to the students about English. For example, the teachers gave information to the students that English is
important, so that they must have the experience of using English; such as how to be a good speakers; 2) Developing vocabulary, for example the teacher gave some vocabularies to the students and they had to memorized the vocabulary; 3) finding the new vocabulary in dictionary. Teacher gave some texts to the students and they had to find the new vocabulary and look for the meaning in dictionary; 4) supporting the students to be fluent to speak English. It means that the students always practice orally in front of the class based on the texts they learned; 5) encouraging the student to practice English with their own words. It means that the students had to speak English everyday in
the English class. Then, the topics that used in teaching speaking at SLTP Muhammadiyah 06 Malang were “Daily activities”,” Sport”, and “Hobbies”. The techniques in teaching speaking were drilling the correct pronunciation, giving an example of the topics, and practicing orally by repeating after the teacher, practicing the vocabulary with correct pronunciation. Then the techniques of evaluation in teaching speaking at SLTP Muhammadiyah 06 Malang were giving oral tests to the students, it means that the teachers gave some test in texts and the students had to do the test individually by practicing with they own words. Then, to evaluate the students’ affective domain, the teacher used students’ attendance, students’ interest, and students’ attitude.
For cognitive domain, the teacher used some oral tests to evaluate the student intellectual ability. The last, to evaluate the student psychomotor domain the teacher encouraged the students to practice English. Such as: practice English everyday, do presentation, and
