  • Polymer technology has progressed and dominated automotive industry product, especially applied for interior and exterior of vehicle. Polymer which was often used now was polyester. This resin has good balance and could be formed in room temperature also good adaptation ability. Polyester often used as matrix at fiber glass for ship, car, water container, etc (Surdia T., Pengetahuan Bahan, 1989) The research aimed to find out the strength of polyester composite impact with natural fiber strengthen, especially each various fiber matrix in fiber composition. The research was impact test. Before the research, we made specimen by weigh the resin as it measurement. Here, we made measurement for fiber and resin with comparison : 10% fiber 90% resin ; 20% fiber 80% resin ; and 30% fiber 70% resin. Process to make specimen was done by hand-lay up. The printing standard used was JIS. From the research, could be concluded that variation of fiber percentage and resin influenced the impact power. From the impact test average value, resin 83 with additional pineapple fiber 30% has the highest strength, 18.333 kg.mm/mm2.
