- Breast milk is an ideal diet for babies as the perfect diet with balance nutrition needed. According to Roesli’s, th scope of breast fed baby was only 39,5% however about 10% of mortality rate of babies was caused by diarrhea. The aim of this study was to analyze the association of diarrhea in 06 month old babies. Design used in the study was an analitic observational by a cross sectional approach. The data were take on July 2009 at Puskesmas Gladag Rogojampi Banyuwangi. The sample was 06 month babies where as divided into two group, 25 babies were exclusively breastfed while the other 25 were given formulated milk. The data were taken primarily by questionare to identify the correlation between exclusively breast feeded babies and formulated milk babies the incidence of diarrhea. Data were then analyzed using Chisquare,while contingency coeficient performed to analyze the correlation level. Results showed that the incidence of diarrhea was 40% in formulated group, while it was only 12% in exclusively breastfed. The statistical analysis showed a significant correlation between this two group with diarrhea.
