- The research purpose is to know the level of expected rate of return and investment risk in capital market if it compared with expected rate of return and investment risk in foreign exchange market. This research is conducted by using composite index as indicator at capital market and mid rate value of USD/Rp to indicator at foreign exchange market. Result of comparison rate of return and investment risk between capital market and foreign exchange market indicate that rate of return and investment risk in capital market is higher than in foreign exchange market. Based on result of examination of hypotesis at this research prove that capital market will give high rate of return which followed by risk which is high to be compared to investment rate of return in foreign exchange market. So that, to the risk seeker, it will be more precise if they have investment in capital market, because it will take high risk which followed by high rate of return, and to the risk averter it is better to have investment in foreign exchange market, because it will take low risk.
