- This final project specified its study in controlling the speed of a three phase induction motor. The dynamic change of the system is controlled using a PID controller, where the value of Kp, Ki and Kd of the PID controller is determined using Root-Locus method. The physical form of the induction motor as the plant is modeled using OE (Output- Error) system identification method, by having the system’s input-output from direct measurement, model estimation and validation is then performed to select desired plant transfer function with the best performance. Resulting analysis of the plant modeling an the design of the PID controller used for the system is then simulated using Matlab 7.1. The modeling and system design is then applied directly to the induction motor using the help of MF-624 as an input-output system, where the motor input is in the form of voltage and its output is in the form of speed.
