- The title of this study is “A Technical Analysis of Moving Average to Decide Stock Investment of PT. Astra Agro Lestari Tbk di Bursa Efek Indonesia (Case Study on PT Astra Agro Lestari, Tbk)”. This is case study research. The purpose of this study is to test the role of technical analysis of moving average as the basic of deciding stock investment in stock market. In this study, the data analysis technique covers daily stock analysis per 10 by observation base, an analysis of stock price and transaction volume, graphic analysis is using moving average method. From the result of study, it can concluded that the appropriate time to determine investment decision is by buying stock when the price is low (bearish), selling stock when it is raise (bullish), and hold it (hold) when it is in the position of flat price and strong trend. Based on the conclusion above, the researcher suggests that technical analysis is most widely used to take decision of stock investment in relatively short-term by period of daily, weekly, or event monthly. Therefore, if the investor wants to hold the stock in more than 1 year, it is suggested to use this analysis like fundamental analysis.
