  • Griyo Mulyo Hotel where is in Achmad Djais street No 5 Surabaya, the company that work on lodging service. Griyo Mulyo Hotel is the small hotel type with jasmine class II, have the building of three floor with 20 room. In structure organization company of Griyo Mulyo Hotel have 18 an employees . The vision is " Just feel like at home", The mission is " satisfaction, comfort, and privacy of guest is our priority" and the strategy that use to make quality reference by standard is the ownership of the nature or character and behavior that take for sure and good direction with the basic of aspect by Accessibility, Accuracy, Courtable, Comfort, Credibility, Efficiency, Effectiveness, Flexibility, Honesty, Responsibility, Security. The employees professional work pursuant to the procedure and systems of standard which have been arranged in rule of job (KKK) and job procedures for each department (housekeeping department), which must supported by the ability and membership of employees, management keys of hotel is clean quality of hotel, natty, balmy. Department of Housekeeping have especial character as unit produce to yield the product with quality, in the form of room as clean lodging place, balmy and natty. Low problems of work productivity to result quality expected by company at departmental employees performance housekeeping, researcher collect and description of behavior lower of work productivity and look for the background factors of lower work productivity from behavior an employees on working. Intention of this research to know The background factors of lower productivity of work on Department Housekeeping Griyo Mulyo hotel on Surabaya. This research is qualitative description with collecting data method by interview and observation. The responder is an employees of Department housekeeping Griyo Mulyo hotel on Surabaya, three of the people subject obtained from employees often do deviation of rule of procedures and employees work in Griyo Mulyo hotel on Surabaya. The result of this research is find that the background factors of productivity work departmental employees housekeeping Griyo Mulyo hotel on Surabaya is internal factor are education of employees, attitude, productivity management, efficiency, in discipline working, loyalty, initiative and external factor are family, income, environmental and climate of job, and also teamwork.
