- After the September 11th attack at year 2001, the United State president, George W.Bush, delivered his speech to criticize terorism and to launch a new crucify war to extincted terorism. Based on a history, the war involving a moslem and christian was happen in few periodic time, that is on 1095 to 1270. The 20th Century Fox as one of the American film distributor, was produce a movie with a same theme that is Kingdom Of Heaven, which precisely telling about the fight of jerusallem teritory between moslem and christian. Since released at 2005, this movie has arouse a lot of controversy. One of the character in the movie act as a moslem troop leader is Saladin. Many moslem historian, describe Saladin character as a brave and wise leader, even some of christian historian has same opinion about him. The Saladin figure in this movie become an important point to describe a moslem profile in a world opinion. Many of movie criticism at MidEast said this movie could be a big help to rehabilite an Islam reputation which in time belong, was demolished by Hollywood movie. From that point above, researcher are interesting to choose the Kingdom Of Heaven movie as research object. The problem statement in this research is to knowing how the moslem jihad message was describe, which is represented by Saladin figure on the Kingdom Of Heaven movie The film itself has plenty of sign. But not all the sign could be understood unless it studied first. One of research methods which usually used to search the significance in a message is semiotic. The semiotic method itself has many various model, to avoid confusing, researcher just only use a semiotic model from Charles Sanders Peirce, it is because his model was considering as a semiotic grand theory. Pierce basic theory, situated on trikotomi about relation “to changed the sign” between representamen, object and interpretan, which later could reveal the type (icon, index or symbol) of each sign. This interpreting process called semiosis, which all concluding on the meaning triangle scheme. Basically, the semiotic method has qualitativeinterpretative characteristic. Two important element in a movie, which is visual (including shooting technique, editing, visualization, angle) and audio (including dialogue, sounds effect, music ilustration) will be used as data analysis unit. The selected movie scene surely will conected with main research statement. Data for this research gained with VCD documentation of Kingdom Of Heaven and from related literature. On the data analysis technique, researcher will do a semiosis process on the selected movie scene, and afterwards describe it with a narated style to clearly explain the message which wants to be delivered. The result of this research, show us, that moslem jihad message which is represented by Saladin figure was visualize in activity/insident form. Through scientific semiotic view, the jihad message inclined formed to index style signs. This is because the Saladin jihad message was lean to what Holy AlQur’an and Hadist ordered. The methaporis icon sign was formed with shooting technique in effort to compare between two object, whereas symbol sign was formed with more simple visualization because this is inclined has a same meaning from culture point of view. The Saladin jihad message describe more as coward leader, in the movie also, Saladin was nevervisualize with swords fight scene. In some plot, the Saladin jihad message has a doble side meaning.
