- LP is a container for guidance and education to those who have violated the Act or a criminal who received the decision of the judge or person who is undergoing a criminal. Prisoners were given coaching education, skills and various other activities for inmates that have the expertise that would be useful as a preparation for life to live independently after a free, can change behavior and found the standard of living by satisfying needs. As one form of activity in the LP is an education program umun (chasing pack A) of inmates are illiterate and school dropouts that aims to eradicate illiteracy, improve discipline, a sense of remorse, good character and are closer to God. But the success of the program is determined by several things: one of them is strong motivation from within themselves prisoners to change labih good or achievement of a goal. In accordance with this background, the authors take the title "Motivation Prisoners Following Educational Program In Correctional Institution for Women IIA Malang". The purpose of this study is to know the motivation of prisoners who follow the educational program and know the factors that can inhibit the motivation of inmate education program. The data source is the 5 people who follow the inmate education program, officers and other inmates as the teacher who helped teach. Data collection methods used were interviews, observation, documentation and discussion as problem solving solutions. The result showed that the motivation of inmate education program is the need for security, the need for love and a sense of belonging and the need for the highest fulfillment by the inmates is the need for self-esteem. While the motivation factor that can manghambat inmate education program is provided less varied materials, necessary materials on the practice and need to be reproduced more training problems as the evaluation of education programs. The results of the discussion as a solution to solving the problem is the change in style in the delivery of material that is more communicative, varied and understand the condition of their students. Held over many practice problems as program evaluation and procurement of materials on a regular basis every month discussion about education programs.
