- Mathematics is a crucial lesson in the education lifespan both in realistic and nonrealistic life. This lesson obliges the students to think critically, analytical, creative, and logical to raise the reasoning power in comprehending the learning materials which affect the results of students’ learning optimally. Several aspects need to review in Mathematics learning viz: 1) Internal Factors, and 2) External Factors. From those factors, students often find difficulty in accomplishing a narrative question that uses a series of words or stories. This research aims to define the students’ error in fulfilling the Relation and Function narrative question materials based on Newman Theory. Qualitative Approach and Descriptive research type are used in this research. Written tests and free interviews are utilized to collect data from 32 students of VIII-D SMPN 11 Malang as the research subjects.
