  • Based on the needs analysis conducted at Al Azhar Islamic Elementary School on November 12th and 25th 2019 the results were obtained that learning used Leatoring method, and assignment, Learning used media if the material being discussed is difficult to reach by the students, then it might use media for the learning process, while for the beginning of reading and counting learning in the first grade did not use media as much so it used books for the learning process of reading and counting, so that the school needs Smart Member Media (being smart in reading and counting) for thematic learning of the first grade of Elementary School. The purpose of this research is to develop the product of Smart Member Media in the elementary school. This research used ADDIE model development that consists of five steps; they were Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. Field try out is done in Al Azhar Islamic Elementary School of 56 Malang in the first grade which has 15 students as the total number. This research is conducted on January 2020. The technique of data collection used was observation, interview, questionnaire and documentation. The technique of data analysis used was qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis. The results showed that: (1) material expert validation, media and Smart Member media learning is valid to be used. It is shown by a percentage acquisition involved material and media expert that was 94% while a percentage acquisition of learning experts was 87%. (2) Smart Member media which develop could be said as deserve to be used, it is shown by a percentage acquisition from the result of teachers response was 87% and students’ response got percentage of 91%. (3) The use of Smart Member Media gets average result reach KKM which is determined.. Suggestion are proposed that teacher can control the class by clear the groups division so that students can understand and the teacher can guide them when practice using Smart Member media for better situation.
