  • Compulsive buying behavior is an irresistible shopping and buying behavior and often buys unneeded items. Compulsive buying is done to eliminate negative emotions felt by individuals. The tendency of individuals to do compulsive buying behavior can be caused by the low Subjective well-being where the individual is too overpowered by negative emotions so they want to immediately reduce these feelings, which if done continuously, then it can have an impact on Subjective well-being. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between Subjective well-being and compulsive buying behavior in college students. This study uses a quantitative approach. The subjects of the study were 247 students aged 18-22 years from semester 2-8 who were active in college. The instruments used were compulsive buying scale, positive affect negative affect schedule, and satisfaction with life scale, the results of analysis using Pearson correlation showed that there was a negative relationship between Subjective well-being and compulsive buying behavior in students. Where the lower the Subjective well-being, the higher the level of compulsive buying behavior of college students.
