  • Semeru Mountain is one of active volcano in Java island with height 3,676 m. As an active mountain, Semeru Mountain has potential to throw hot and cold lava from its eruption. Sediment volume from Semeru Mountain ranged 1,573,000 km3 with 1 year repetition. The sedimentation distributed into three main river. They were: Mujur river, Kejali River, and Glidik River. Material spread of Semeru Mountain eruption ranged ± 140 Km2. Drempel sandbag is one of effort done in controling sediment and reducing sediment supply by hold and reserving it so that the sediment were not causing superficiallity in middle and ended region. After planning peak debt (Q) with 218,900 m3/sec value found from calculation, there could be planned drempel dimension. From the calculation, there found that dam height 9m, main summit dam 4 m, upper course declivity 1:0,9 and ended declivity 1:0,2 overflow declivity width 80 m, water elevation above overflow 1.04 and guard height 1 m. sub dam height 5.505 m, upper part declivity 1:0,9 and ended declivity 1:0,2 dam and sub dam (apron) range 15 m, denang thickness 1 m. Capacity of sediment flew in mountain Debris Flow) was 6,912 m3/det, Mud Flow was 0,917 m3/sec
