  • This research discusses the problems that arise in the process of treating tuberculosis (TB) patients. The strict and long process of treatment and the effects of severe drugs can be the cause of TB patients not taking medication regularly. More than a few patients refused treatment and eventually became MDR-TB patients (Multidrug Resistant Tuberculosis). During the treatment process, TB Care cadres utilize persuasive communication to influence the attitudes and behaviour of TB patients so that they follow the treatment and consultation process until their health recovered. With the problems that arise, researcher is interested in learning the convincing communication strategies implemented by TB Cadres. This study applies the concept of a persuasive communication strategy of Melvin D Fleur and Sandra J. Ball-Roceach which is divided into three strategies, namely psychodynamic strategy, sociocultural strategy, and meaning construction strategy. This study uses qualitative research methods with descriptive type. The subjects in this study were determined using purposive sampling technique so that four people were found as subjects. Data collection techniques were carried out by interview, documentation, and data analysis techniques based on the Huberman and Miles models. The results of this study indicate that the TB Care cadre's persuasive communication strategy in assisting the TB treatment process is carried out emotionally and rationally, partnering with the environment surrounding patients in surveillance of routine treatment, and providing knowledge to patients regarding TB disease through brochures. The constraints found by TB Care cadres are stereotypes and dogmatism that are still inherent in patients. The conclusion of this study is that TB Care cadres use psychodynamic strategies, sociocultural strategies and meaning construction strategies to help the process of treating TB patients to recover.
