- Early adolescene is a step of transition from childhood to adulthood that is indicated by dating behavior. One of the factors that effects dating behavior is a paremting style in adjusting the adolescent character and personality to the social and physical environment. The research objective is to examine the effect of parenting style and adolscene personality on dating behavior. The research design is quantitative research by using parenting style, big five personality, and dating behavior scale. Purposive sampling is used as the sampling technique. The research participants were 150 people with the characteristic in aged 11-15 years old who were or had a relationship with the opposite sex. The research findings showed that there was a significant positive effect (F=7.868 (p <0.01)) between parenting style and adolescent personality of dating behavior.
