- Aggressiveness is a behavior that can harm yourself or others, both physically and verbally, so that someone who has high aggressiveness is not good in the development of his life with the environment and peers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of authoritarian parenting on aggressiveness mediated by self-esteem. Respondents from this study were 195 Madiun pencak silat members. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling. Each instrument of data collection is: Authoritarian Parenting using the Parental Authority Questionnaire (PAQ) scale by Buri, Aggressiveness by using the Agression Questioner (AQ) measuring instrument by Orpinas & Franskowski. And selfesteem using the Self Estem Scale By Rosenberg measurement tool. The results showed that there was a positive and significant influence on authoritarian parenting towards aggressiveness (β = 1.68; p = 0.00), there was a negative and significant effect on authoritarian parenting on self-esteem (β = -0.53; p = 0.00), negative and insignificant influence of self-esteem on aggressiveness (β = -0.20; p = 0.11), and self-esteem is not able to be a mediator to the influence of authoritarian parenting with aggressiveness (β = 0 , 11; p = 0.55)
