  • The orphanage has so far only distributed for a social function, a philanthropic institution that helps children who need something, so that the Islamic learning model being organized is also modest and sporadic. This raises the anxiety of the managers to change the pattern of childcare in various forms. One such effort is to hold Islamic boarding school-based Islamic learning models. Al-Ma’wa Orphanage Orphanage is one that organizes Islamic boarding school-based Islamic learning models. The purpose of this research is to find out and explore the reasons Al-Ma'wa Orphanage applies Islamic learning based on Islamic boarding schools and how to model learning. Researchers used a qualitative approach, using a case study design. Data collection was carried out using interview, observation and documentation techniques, in which the researcher collected data from a variety of primary and secondary primary sources that were relevant to the research theme. Data analysis techniques in this study through stages, reducing data, exposure or display and drawing conclusions. The research findings show that the reason is because they want to change the mentality of the foster children who are not good, want to change the culture of the orphanage children performing Islamic boarding school students, and want to build up foster children. While the model of Islamic learning conducted at the Al-Ma'wa Orphanage Orphanage is classified as the old model, which includes delivery learning strategies that focus on the role of the teacher. Whereas the teacher center approach, methods and learning techniques are focused on the teacher. Unlike when outside the classroom, they create a system of life for the orphanage that is typical of the pesantren, from waking up to going back to sleep, their activities are arranged tightly, made and carried out by students themselves under the supervision of caregivers.
