  • ABSTRACT The welding system is very important in the connection of metals, where the system will affect the results of welding. Welding systems that exist today are still many who use manual welding systems, where these systems require techniques and high accuracy to get maximum results, and this technique can only be done by certain people, or people who are experts in their fields in terms of time this system requires quite a long time so it is inefficient. The designer designs a prototype of a semi-automatic welding system mechanical tool that will be used in the welding process without requiring special expertise in its use, with maximum results. The mechanical system of this tool, uses two electric motors and gear rails as the operating grooves of the tool, the first motor is used to move the tool while the second motor is used to move the nozzle drive from the welding machine. From the calculations obtained the motor power and torque, P = 29.5 watts and 11, N.m on the first motor. P = 3.04 watts and T = 1.6 Nm.
