- The intelligence of high school students in managing emotions can affect their drive to learn better in school. Emotional intelligence can make students more pressing their problems and understand their goals in school. This condition is predicted to have a positive effect on the learning motivation of high school students. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of emotional intelligence on high school students' learning motivation. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling, in the City of Probolinggo. The subjects of the study were 204 high school students aged 15-18 years. The data collection method uses a scale of emotional intelligence adapted from aspects of the Goelman's Emotional Intelligence theory and learning motivation scale adapted from aspects of the learning motivation theory of Hamzah B Uno. Test analysis uses simple linear regression that shows there is a significant positive effect between emotional intelligence on learning motivation.
