Daftar Isi:
- The largest aquatic environmental system on the earth is the marine ecosystem, the marine ecosystem has the greatest wealth and biodiversity in the world, one of which is coral. If the coral is damaged, the aquatic environment will suffer from the damage. Therefor, the main responsibility as a human being is to maintain the mutual aquatic environment. Coral destruction is one of the main factors in the marine ecosystem, unfortunately, there are many people who did not try to rehabilitate the coral reefs to support the sustainability of the ecosystem. This study aimed to determine the genus level of coral species, as well as environmental chemical parameters, and coral conditions. This research was conducted in Gili Labak Island, Sumenep Regency on September 2019. The sample identification was carried out with one of the coral expert lecturers in the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) Universitas Brawijaya Mr Oktiyas Muzaky Luthfi, ST, M.Sc. This research was a descriptive observational study, and the data collection was conducted by using Belt transect with 25 plots. The Data was obtained in the form of photos of coral documentation, coral shape and condition, and measurement of environmental chemical parameters. The results obtained by coral species consisting of 6 species of Acropora, Anacropora 1 species, Montipora 1 species, Isopora 1 species, Porites 1 species, Seriatopora 1 species, and Favites 2 species. The environmental chemical parameters observed in the waters of Gili Labak Island, Sumenep Regency include; 31°C of temperature, 30% salinity and 86.5 brightness. Moreover, it concluded that the environmental chemical parameters were sufficient to support the coral growth and coral formation. The results of this study was used as a source of learning Biology in animalia material for Class X high school students in the form of a poster media.
