  • Background: TNI is national defense to maintain the security of each border between Indonesia and neighboring countries. Injury during the war and is very common in military exercises. Morbidity and mortality is a result of injury suffered by the military if first aid is not immediately performed. According to previous research and interviews, knowledge of first aid soldiers rated inadequate, so there is little military members injured and killed while on duty. Method: This study uses a correlational design. Collecting data using a modified questionnaire of the Hong Kong Red Cross distributed to 100 military respondents in Yonif Mekanis 512/QY Malang with purposive sampling technique. Spearman's test is used to process data in this study. Research result: Results of the analysis of 100 respondents, soldiers who have less knowledge of 50%, but have a positive attitude that is higher by 61%, while the soldiers who have a high knowledge of only 9% had a positive response of 6%, and there is no relation between knowledge and attitude in handling first aid in cases of trauma soldiers (p-value = 0.87). Conclusion: Although the soldiers did not have a good knowledge, they have a high positive attitude. The empirical results show that there is no correlation between knowledge with attitude soldiers in first aid treatment. It is expected that the Army soldier can improve knowledge of first aid to reduce morbidity and mortality.
