  • Cocoa is one of the commodities that plays an important role in the national economy. International trade can be defined as activities carried out by residents of a country with residents of other countries to obtain goods and services that are produced on the basis of mutual agreement. The objectives of this study are: (1) to analyze the export trends of cocoa beans in Indonesia and (2) to analyze what factors influence the export volume of Indonesian cocoa beans. The data used in this study are secondary data from 2007-2016 sourced from BPS and BI. The analytical method used is trend analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis. This study uses variables (X1) the amount of cocoa beans production, (X2) international prices and (X3) Rupiah exchange rate against the US Dollar. The results of a trend analysis of the volume of cocoa bean exports in Indonesia obtained in this study are shown to be decreasing every year. The cause of the downward trend is due to a decrease in the productivity of smallholder plantations, large state plantations and a decrease in the area of private plantations, and therefore can affect the cocoa bean production process. The results of multiple linear regression analysis of the three variables only one variable affected Y (export of cocoa beans), namely X1 variable (cocoa bean production) and two variables that did not affect the variables that did not affect the variable Y (export of cocoa beans), namely variable X2 (Internasional prices), X3 (Rupiah exchange rate against the US Dollar).
