- Incisions wounds are a condition that is often experienced by everyone and treatment is carried out using factory-made chemical preparation. Artificial chemical preparation have the risk of side effects on wound healing and the price is expensive. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an effect of mangrove shell extract (Gelonia coaxans) on incisions wounds and the benefits of research as a source of learning biology. Pure experimental research with the Posttest Only Control Group Design approach with a sample of 25 white rats weighing 150-200 grams divided into 5 groups, mangrove shell extract (Gelonia coaxans) with concentrations of 5%, 10%, 15%, positive control group and negative control group. Data collection was performed 2 times a day by taking data on the length of time the wound was closed and the length of time lost to erythema, edema and granulation. The results showed that the concentration of 15% had the low average length of the incisions wounds by 3.4 days. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there is an effect of the effect of mangrove shells extracts (Gelonia coaxans) on incisions wounds in white rats (Rattus norvegicus). Mangrove shell extract (Gelonia coaxans) at a concentration of 15% has the most effective influence in healing in incisions wounds white rats (Rattus norvegicus).
