- Orchids plant known can produce many kinds of secondary metabolite. Orchidaceae family worth economic value as core plant to produce herbal medicine. Orchidaceae plant contain phytochemical generally categorized as alkaloids, flavonoids, carotenoids, anthocyanins, and sterols. One way these secondary producing is to use a precursor / pacemakers secondary metabolite on MS culture medium in vitro. The purpose of this research was to studied the response of orchids plants in distribution phenylalanine for plant growth and it flavonoid contents. This research used Factorial Completely Random Design with two factor. The treatments were orchids type (V1= Cattleya C350, V2 = Dendrobium D315, V3 = Cattleya C349, V4 =Dendrobium D305) and phenylalanine precursors contents with treatment F0 (no additional precursors), F1 (phenylalanine 250 mg/l), F2 (phenylalanine 500 mg/l), F3 (phenylalanine 750 mg/l). The data obtained was calculated by the analysis of the variance then analyze through honestly significance difference (HSD) test on 5% level. The results of this research showed that best treatment for planlet growth was orchids type Dendrobium D315 with additional precursors phenylalanine content 250 mg/l (F1V2). Best treatment combination for total flavonoids was orchids type Dendrobium D305 with additional precursors phenylalanine content 500 mg/l (F3V4) worth of 0,932446 mg QE/g.
