Daftar Isi:
- This study aims to determine the effect of growing media originating from various wastes including cage waste, organic market waste from wood cutting industry waste and the combination of the three media on the production and content of dry matter larvae of Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens). The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications with each larva growing 20 g (age 7 days). The treatments applied are as follows: P1 = 100% organic market waste, P2 = 100% chicken excreta P3 = 100% wood sawdust and P4 = 34% organic market waste, 33% chicken excreta, 33% wood sawdust. Larva observation and maintenance time is 28 days. Variables observed include weight gain, dry matter content and dry matter production. The results of the study based on analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that differences in growth media had a significant effect (F>0.05) on growth and BSF larvae dry matter production, the highest value found in the P1 treatment resulted in 202 g and 49.95 g. The difference in growth media had no effect (F<0.05) on the content of BSF larvae dry matter. The conclusion of this study is that the use of 100% organic market waste produces the best larval growth and production.
