- The inner conflict can raise in a person who facing between two or several possibilities that can contain motives or causes that are impulse of onr’s actions or the basis of one’s thoughts. The objectives of this study are (1) discribe the inner conflict of the main character in Ashadi Siregar’s novelMenolak Ayah that was raised by the author through the main character; (2) discribe the inner conflict of the main character in the novel Menolak Ayah by Ashadi Siregarthat moves the plot of then story; (3) discribe the inner conflict of the main character in the novel Menolak Ayah by Ashadi Siregar through languange style; (4) discribe the inner conflict of the main character in the novel Menolak Ayah by Ashadi Siregarin terms of the author’s perspective. This research use a qualitative approach and discriptive research method. The data collection techniques used in this study is the documentation technique. Based on the result of the study note that the main character experiences iner conflict in the form of grudge against his father. The grudge is reinforced by guilt towards his granfther, hatred, anger, and pain.
