- In big cities of Indonesia, there are many concrete areas which can cause reduced the water catchment area, so that, rainwater runoff easily overflow to the surface and unable to soak into the ground. To reduce runoff water on the surface, the water absorbing building is planned, that is an infiltration wells. The infiltration wells is one method of tackling floods by absorbing rainwater into the ground to reduce surface runoff that is accommodated in drainage canal. In this study, the construction of infiltration wells is planned at Perumahan Bumi Podo, Rukun, Malang. The construction of infiltration wellsbuilt in each house with size of 1m x 1m. From the result of calculation of the plan, the flood discharge plan with 2-year return period obtained was 3,529 m3/sec. The discharge that can be reduced by infiltration wells is 2,444m3/sec. Thus, the discharge of rainwater that is accommodated in the drainage canal can be reduce and able to reduce runoff water on the surface.
