  • Sustainable spring water is one of the water resources that needs to be preserved, because water is one of the natural resources that has a very important role for the survival of humans and other living things. In this study it was found that as the development of Batu City the need for water increased. With more and more development, pollution of industrial and household waste and the reduction of green land will affect the quality, quantity, and continuity of springs. In this research, what is discussed is the implementation of sustainable spring water conservation policy in Batu City. The purpose of this study was to determine the policy of the Batu City Government in the conservation of sustainable springs in Batu City. The Government of Batu City issued a policy of conservation of sustainable springs referring to Batu City Regional Regulation Number 16 of 2011 and in accordance with the mandate of Law No.11 of 1974 Article 13 and Law No. 37 of 2014 concerning Soil and Water Conservation. The policy issued by the Batu City Government is the establishment of a spring border, tightening the issuance of building permits (IMB) and carrying out conservation activities around the spring. In its implementation the Batu City government involves the role of the community in accordance with the concept of sustainable development.
