- The huge risk of potential natural disaster in Indonesia has enforced Indonesian government to form a solid and capable team who commonly called as natural disaster volunteer team. To be part of natural disaster team, it takes risk taking behavior to be able to carry out the job responsibility. Risk taking behavior is a behavior that lead someone into negative and positive consequence. One of the factors which affect risk-taking behavior is a personality. To deal with a difficult situation at the disaster site, volunteers must have strength and strength both physically and psychologically. It takes strong personality characteristics that are able to respond to problems well. The tough personality that is meant here is a hardiness personality. This research aims to explain the effect of hardiness personality towards risk taking behavior of natural disaster team. This research will be using design a quantitative approach. There will be 100 respondents for sampling purpose. The risk taking behavior research scale will be using Domain Specific Risk Taking Behavior (DOSPERT) and hardiness scale will be using Ouelette Kobasa, S. C. The finding of this study explains that there is no relevant and positive effect between hardiness personality to risk taking behavior. What it means is there is no influence of variables hardiness against risk-taking behavior in a natural disaster team.
