  • Jargon is one of the language variations in sociolinguistics. Jargon constitutes the language that isused in the certain field in the society. In other words, jargon might a way to delineate the feelingand specific language of community. One of the community that using a jargon is Malang Tattoo Community (MTC). MTC is one of the communities in malang which runs in tattoo artistry and piercing. It constantly uses English terms in daily working conversation with their members and clients, which means that English terms they used are different from the real meaning in English. Based on the research background provide above, this research was intended to:(1) find the jargon used in Malang Tattoo Community, (2) describe the meaning of the jargon, (3) andalso the word class of the jargon itself. This research employed qualitative research design, since it investigated jargon used by the member of MTC. In this research, the researcher decided to to consider observation, interview and document analysis as the instruments to collect the accurate data. The result of the research showed that the researcher found 25 jargon when conducting and investigation with MTC. The researcher compared the jargon based on the literal meaning taken from Oxford online dictionary and jargon meaning taken from the interview. One of the jargon word found in MTC was "cover up". The literal meaning of this word is "an attempt to prevent people discovering the truth about a serious mistake or crime". However, in this community , the meaning of "cover up" is "changing the overall concept of picture by covering the old picture with the new concept". Furthermore, the researcher also found the word classes of the jargon itself. There are 10 jargons as noun, 4 jargon as verb and, 11 jargon as adjective.
