  • Early adolescence is a developmental stage in which students build relationships and attachment to their peers outside the home neighborhood. The peer attachment can bring comfort and psychological security to the students. Peer attachments can be built when students have good social adjustments. While the increasement of social adjustment associated with the increasement of the ability to regulate emotions. This study implemented an emotional regulation training to help student recognize, manage, and express their emotions. The pretest-posttest control group design experimental research used to see the effectiveness of emotional regulation training in increasing peer attachment among students. A total of 26 students scored emotional regulation ​​and peer attachments below the average participated in this study. They divided into: experimental group and the control group. The results showed change in the mean score of the peer attachment in the experimental group 7.67 higher compared to the control group. Although, the difference scores between the two groups was not significant (p = 0.173). The emotional regulation training is not effective to improve peer attachment among junior high school students.
